PLEASE READ :Mosque Re-Opening – Phase 1, July 4th 2020

As salamu alaikum

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I pray that you are all keeping well during these difficult times.

Alhamdulillah in accordance with government guidelines, we are planning to open up our mosque for congregational prayers from fajr on 4th July.

The continued safety and well-being of our entire community remains our highest priority and as such we shall be adopting a phased approach to the reopening. The 2m social distancing rule will applies throughout.

For phase 1, which is likely to be a period of around 2 weeks, (depending on how the matters progress) the mosque will be :

1) open for Daily Fardh salah only

2) jumuah will not be held at the mosque initially, as we would be practicing how to accommodate and conduct larger gatherings. So we would be asking you to continue praying dhuhr at home on the 10th and 17th July with your families

3) Sisters are requested to continue praying at home, for the time being.

4) Attendees will only be allowed into the mosque if they are wearing face masks, bring their own prayer mats, and a plastic bag to place their shoes in

5) Toilets, shoe racks and wudhu areas will not be accessible. Attendees are requested to do their wudhu at home.

6) A one way system has been set up and all doors and windows will remain open during prayers to minimise risk of infection.

7) We shall endeavour to protect the vulnerable.

Therefore, in addition to Sisters, the following are requested to please continue praying at home:

  • ALL children under 16
  • anyone who has respiratory diseases (COPD), heart conditions, diabetes, undergoing cancer treatment or any other underlying health issues
  • Over 70 are now not shielding but the advice is that if possible they should still stay home.
  • if you are showing any of the symptoms of Covid-19, High fever, coughs, sneezing, sore throat, nausea, diarrhoea

Please follow the instructions of the trained volunteers who are there to ensure the safety of the congregation.

We plan to have a strict adherence to the instructions and we hope that brothers would understand and cooperate for the health of their brothers and themselves. Remember a Muslim is one who does not bring harm to his brother in Islam.

If you have any concerns or questions, please feel free to contact us.

Jazakum Allahu khairan
