Reminder on Parking

Reminder on Parking

We have been informed by reliable sources that there will be enforcement officers (traffic wardens) from the council patrolling around York mosque on Fridays during Jumuah.

There have been ongoing complaints from local residents and businesses of people attending jumuah prayer parking on double yellow lines and blocking access to driveways and residential entrances despite regular appeals from the imam every Friday to car share, take public transport, walk or park sensibly in neighbouring side streets and public car parks.

To help alleviate any problems the management team has opened up part of the grass area which is under repair to enable parking for 25-30 cars.

Please respect the rights of our neighbours and maintain the unblemished reputation of York mosque by allowing plenty of time when arriving for jumuah and taraweeh prayers.

On Fridays, after 1.20pm and 15 mins before each taraweeh the mosque car park is full so do not attempt to reach the car park and aim to park outside as requested.
Finally, this is another official request for volunteers to help with car parking and directing traffic. Please contact any of the management team if you are able to help. JazakAllah khayran.
